YOU’RE FIRED: Bill
Daley has resigned as President Obamas chief of staff. Jacob Lew, who has been serving as the
director of the Office of Management and Budget, has been promoted and will
take over as the new chief of staff.
Daley was brought in as a replacement for Rahm Emanuel, but
in November began sharing large portions of his position with Pete Rouse.
According to the White House, Daley offered the President a letter
of resignation last week. The President
asked Daley to think about it for 24 hours, after which Daley came back to the
President and said he was firm in his decision to resign.
The marks the latest change in the Obama Administrations
staff. Obama has been plagued with a
series of turnovers in many high ranking positions.
Editor’s Note:
Wow. 2 in 3 years…
